Sunny Side Up

So, the last few times I've tried a new dish, they haven't been so good. The first one was good, Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters and breadcrumb mixture were really wonderful.

My next adventure was to try out my Crock Pot; and I have one of those really old orange and brown ones! I thought, maybe I'll try a Pot Roast. I didn't really like it when I was little, but I thought maybe I could make it taste better, or that my taste buds had changed. No such luck. Ew, yuck. The short guy did not approve. I will not be trying that meal ever again.

After that was the Spinach, Mozzarella and Bocconcini pizza. Too bland. Still no approval from my little man.

So, I decided to take a short break from cooking... to revive my spirit. So I made Zucchini Cupcakes. They were such a hit, success!

Now I just need to start taking pictures, and keep my head up.

The Scramble

I've found myself very drawn to scrambled eggs lately. I don't know if it's the simplicity, or that I can't really mess it up. I've put everything in my eggs, even meatloaf; though I can't really say that was a great idea.

During my unexpected experimental phase, I tricked my 2 year old into eating complex scrambled eggs! Wow! He turns his nose up at plain, boring scrambled eggs. He would rather starve!

Actually, he's just two and it's kind of a miracle to get two year olds to eat ANYTHING sometimes. He's never turned down my scrambles though.

The list of ingredients I typically use:
Spinach
Celery
Mushrooms
Asparagus
Apple Sausage
Sweet Italian Sausage
Hickory Smoked Bacon
Black Forest Bacon
Romano Cheese
Cheddar Cheese

I have adopted the 'Breakfast is the most important meal of the day' mentality. And so I get up early, at the Short Guy's request... and start our morning adventure.

I hope to get him interested in Real Food, and to be uninterested in gross packaged and processed food. We'll see how that goes.

For today, it's The Scramble, and some French Toast on the side.

Maybe when my recipes develop I'll post some on here.
